There might be even a single player campaign added… Oh, my!
Gaming Intel and Charlie Intel report that in 2019, when it will be Infinity Ward’s turn to release the next Call of Duty game (2011: Modern Warfare 3, 2013: Ghosts, 2016: Infinite Warfare), they might continue Modern Warfare after leaving it behind in 2011. Also, aside from the usual multiplayer/Zombies, they are also rumored to have a single-player campaign, too. They also plan to implement a battle royale mode, which wouldn’t be surprising, as Treyarch’s Black Ops IIII will also have it…
Let’s twist the story a bit with the Reddit list that shows the names who were hired from Respawn Entertainment to join Infinity Ward. After 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, several IW developers left to form Respawn Entertainment (2014: Titanfall, 2016: Titanfall 2), which has been acquired by Electronic Arts. Are people escaping EA to rejoin Activision Blizzard?
Meanwhile, all we know is that Respawn is working on „a new title in the Titanfall franchise,” as well as Star Wars VR projects. Infinity Ward is going down the safe route by bringing back Modern Warfare. It sounds logical… however, this is just a rumor at the moment. Don’t believe it all yet!
