It looks like action RPG titles got popular in recent years. Now here’s another one that seems to be quite interesting.

I think it’s safe to say that the Souls games started something in the world of video games. They didn’t necessarily create a new genre but they shook up the world of action RPGs. Just look at what we’ve got thanks to the success of the Souls games: Lords of the Fallen, Nioh, The Surge – the latter two are already getting a sequel – and there’s also the upcoming Code Vein and also Cradle Games’ new work, called Hellpoint.

Hellpoint is a game set in an occult sci-fi world and maybe that’s the reason why it looks like a crossover between Dark Souls and The Surge. What’s surprising is that tinyBuild is the publisher behind it who generally tends to help to smaller indie studios – however, this game looks like quite a big project.

The developer of the title is Cradle Games. The team promised tactical, intense combat and a special take on the new game plus design that leaves you wondering if you truly discovered the real secret of Hellpoint.

The game is going to release in 2019 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, Mac, and Linux.
