Sony censored a game again, but it didn’t happen on launch day…
Recently, it wasn’t Nintendo whose games (or games on their consoles) got censored – in the past, it happened countless times. Now, Sony is doing this, and they have done it just the other day: Devil May Cry 5 got a patch over the weekend, which only censored the Western PlayStation 4 release of the game! You can see this mainly during the Trish and Lady scenes where not much clothing is worn – Capcom has hidden the booty behind the light. The usual lens flare method was used…
Twinfinite compared the international PC, Xbox One, as well as the Japanese and the Western PlayStation 4 versions. Only the Western PS4 release has this lens flare at the moment, but later on, the Xbox One, the PC, or even the Japanese PS4 version could get this unnecessary (and, frankly, unwanted…) change.
Recently, another game got censored – XSEED Games wrote on Twitter that Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, which was a PlayStation 4/PC remake of a 3DS action game with female ninjas, got delayed on PS4 to cut out the Intimacy mode, which was kept intact in the PC port.
So Sony has taken over the „body covering” reigns from Nintendo…
