It’s a Mexican soap opera with game developers. (But thankfully not in five hundred episodes – if that was the case, we’d have to grab a pistol.)
Yesterday, Reuben Langdon, the voice of Dante in the English versions of Devil May Cry 3, Devil May Cry 4, and Devil May Cry 5, said that Hideaki Itsuno, the director of Devil May Cry 5, would have left Capcom, and DmC: Devil May Cry is said to be the reason behind it. (He’d have left after its launch.) The situation is something completely different – Matt Walker, the producer of Devil May Cry 5, clarified the situation on Twitter as much as he was capable to do so: „I think there was a bit of a misunderstanding here. DmC: Devil May Cry has nothing to do with this conversation. Itsuno-san really was proud of what Capcom and Ninja Theory accomplished together on that game. I’m not BSing here.” Itsuno himself also told GameInformer that DmC happened to be one of his favourite Devil May Cry titles. We guess there will be some clarification by Itsuno himself… which will likely happen, as he likes to show up on international gaming sites either in text or video interviews.
Devil May Cry 5 will shortly get Bloody Palace: the demon hunters can fight demons and the time, with more and more dangerous enemies showing up. This time, it’s not some April Fools’ joke – Capcom wrote on Twitter that the Bloody Palace will arrive on April 1, as a free update!
Devil May Cry 5, which launched on March 8, will expand, but we doubt that it would be the final planned DLC, as data mining revealed online co-op, as well as Vergil as a playable character. (No more details as it would be spoiling the story.)
