MOVIE NEWS – The rumor is that Michael B. Jordan‘s Matrix film will be made.

Last month, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum Director Chad Stahelski said in an interview that Lana and Lilly Wachowski were preparing for a new film matrix. These claims were promptly returned with a clarification that the comments concerned a hypothetical situation. Now, however, rumors that the Wachowski have returned to the Matrix the franchises have resurfaced.

According to a report by Discuter Film, the Wachowskis are about to return as directors of the new Film Matrix. Zak Penn will write the screenplay and Michael B. Jordan will star. The report also states that the production of this film will begin in early 2020 in Chicago under the title work “Project Ice Cream”. The film will be produced by Jordan’s Outlier Society Productions and Warner Bros. There are no details of the plot at the moment, nor is it clear whether the announced movie will be a restart or a continuation of Matrix’s original trilogy.

Last May, Stahelski sparked rumors when he spoke about the return of the Wachowskis in the Matrix franchise, saying excitedly that he would gladly make a stunt if asked.

“I’m really happy that the Wachowski are not just doing Matrix, but developing what we all liked,” Stahelski told Slashfilm. you are a stuntman and I would probably get hit by a car. ”

Although these comments were quickly clarified, fans hoped that the Wachowskis would return to the Matrix. After Penn also consulted Twitter in 2017 to discuss his participation in the project.

“… Yes, I’m writing something,” Penn wrote on Twitter. “Not a reboot, not a sequel, look Animator, read comics to see what Wachowskis did … A developing script is not a movie … No casting, director, style can be discussed yet. Nothing to see here people … again. ”

Regardless of the current status of Wachowski over the Matrix, Stahelski’s comments align with those of Penn, in the sense that whatever film the project is, it’s an expansion of sorts. Penn’s tweets specifically refer to The Animator, The Matrix Output of the live animated anthology on DVD, and The Comics Matrix, perhaps reminding fans that the Wachowskis have built a much larger universe than Neo, Morpheus and Trinity – which could be an interesting project if the rumors were to be true.
