Dontnod Entertainment‘s game, Vampyr will also not skip the Nintendo Switch.
Vampyr, which launched in June 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, was alright, but not something extremely memorable. It is now heading towards the big N’s portable console. „London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr Dr Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. [Spanish flu, killing 50-100 million people – the ed.] As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal. [And this would be a reference to the Hippocratic Oath – the ed.] Will you embrace the monster within? Survive and fight against Vampyr hunters, undead skals, and other supernatural creatures. Use your unholy powers to manipulate and delve into the lives of those around you, to decide who will be your next victim. Struggle to live with your decisions… your actions will save or doom London. Fight and manipulate with supernatural abilities, be the saviour and the stalker; a web of interconnected citizens reacts to your decisions,” Nintendo‘s website reads.
Vampyr’s Nintendo Switch port has a significant challenge: how will it perform on this platform? We have seen several current-gen titles show up on the Switch, but we have also seen a few of them being released in a shoddy state (a prime example of it would be ARK: Survival Evolved…), and Vampyr’s success on the successful Nintendo console depends on the performance of the port. If it has a low frame rate and if it has a low resolution, then Focus Home Interactive, the publisher, will not get a positive response. We can’t decide by the trailer yet.
Vampyr will launch on October 29 on the Nintendo Switch. Perfect timing before Halloween – this is a fitting idea.
