The two Disney Classic Games that were released in the 1990s will be getting physical editions, although they will be a bit limited, and just one platform will get them.

Nighthawk Interactive announced that both Aladdin and The Lion King will get limited editions, but mostly on the Nintendo Switch. We’ll explain later why. iam8bit‘s Aladdin and The Lion King Retro Edition will look as it was a SNES game. It will have a two-page poster, as well as a manual that imitates the original. The Aladdin game will be in a Final Cut format, and it „features difficulty adjustments, camera refinements, bug fixes, as well as a few additional surprises for fans..” There will be a Clamshell format as well with the same extras. Both versions are available via BestBuy for fifty dollars.

The list doesn’t end here, as we were serious when we used the term retro – Aladdin will also be sold in a SEGA Mega Drive (or Genesis if you’re from North America) cartridge format for a hundred dollars. Only 4500 are manufactured. iam8bit will have a translucent cartridge (and every 8th cartridge will be a rare, purple format that glows in the dark), a decent manual, and „retro pack-in surprises.” Too bad it costs a bit too much.

The Lion King will get a SNES cartridge, and, again, only 4500 are made. It will have two colours (none of them will be translucent, and the rare format, the Serengeti Sunrise version, will glow in the dark). It will come with a custom dust cover, retro pack-in surprises, and a fold-out foil box. Its price is 100 dollars.

Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King will launch on October 29 for 30 dollars on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We previously wrote about its emulation extras, such as save states, when it was announced.
