Death Stranding Wants To Appeal To Everyone

Death Stranding, Kojima Productions’ game will try to appeal to everyone on PC, which seems to somewhat lack parity nowadays.

Death Stranding, which came out yesterday on PlayStation 4, will be published by 505 Games on PC, and going by them, you’d probably think that the game would be exclusive to the Epic Games Store, just like how Remedy Entertainment’s Control was. That is not the case. We can already see the game’s page both on the Epic Games Store and Steam. And no, there is no timed exclusivity in favour of the Epic Games Store: in the early summer of 2020, Death Stranding will simultaneously launch on both digital storefronts, and it will happen with a 60-dollar price tag, too.

If you think about it, the timing is not that lucky: wouldn’t it have been better (and probably more beneficial…) for Sony to wait until say, January, and then say that the PC version coming later in 2020? Because there might be a few people (who own both a PlayStation 4 and a decent enough PC) that might rather wait for the PC port and skip the PS4 version altogether. (Or they might have a second thought before buying the game on console.) Still, Death Stranding will likely be November’s best-selling game (on the PlayStation Store, it is possibly a given, and it might even pull in the United States altogether…).

And with this double launch on the Epic Games Store and Steam, Kojima Productions is likely stacking money for both their film ideas and a possible sequel. The former has been confirmed, and the latter isn’t ruled out. (And we also believe that Death Stranding could show up on the Google Stadia in 2020 for some reason.) We don’t know the PC system requirements.
