The return of Silent Hill isn’t 100% sure at the moment.

AestheticGamer was who first talked about Konami‘s plans about two Silent Hill games (plus he also revealed how Capcom rebooted Resident Evil 8; we wrote about both subjects), but now, he grabbed a keyboard once again to clarify the rumours.

„The games I’m talking about are not gambling games. Konami was approaching video game development studios to seek interested developers for pitches to evaluate and were looking for two slots. I also know this might sound like a cop-out to some, but outside of Konami approaching developers about this a couple of years ago I know nothing else. Someone I know that worked at one of the approached studios told me this some time ago, and I later was told the same thing by someone else at a different studio. Neither studios ended up getting the job though. I don’t know if they’re still in development, but I’d guess that they are. Others probably know far more than I do. I don’t know anything else more than this,” he wrote. Gambling games, such as Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid 3, or Castlevania getting a pachinko machine.

Let’s go a step further. What if Kojima Productions is the studio that COULD be working the episodic Silent Hill? Kojima said that he wants to make smaller, episodic titles after all, and the rumour said that one of the Silent Hill projects is in that format. Just connect the two dots.

Konami and Hideo Kojima could have made peace, and the latter seems to be working on something horror-related. He also worked on Silent Hills until its cancellation in 2015, and it got a playable teaser (P.T.) on PlayStation 4, which got datamined recently.

Konami has to be up to something. They won’t let Capcom run away with the success in the survival horror genre, especially how they have a dormant IP with Silent Hill that they could use.
