Dean Hall and Brian Hicks are now collaborating on Rocketwerkz.
DayZ, the survival horror of Bohemia Interactive, closed its sales last year with more than 5.8 million units, very positive data within the company. Brian Hicks, the creative director of the standalone version of the game, left the studio in 2018, just before the game ended its early access.
This new project will begin testing very soon. Now, Hicks has joined Rocketwerkz as an executive producer on a survival game that will be out soon and is yet to be announced. Besides, he will do it alongside Dean Hall, the creator of the original DayZ Arma 2 mod and founder of Rocketwerkz. Hall left Bohemia Interactive in 2014 after also working on the standalone version of the title. Now, he has made the announcement of this new untitled project public on his official Twitter account, adding his excitement to return to work with his former partner and indicating that the testing of the game was beginning soon.
The Rocketwerkz website reports that it is currently recruiting for a new AAA project, requiring programming experience with Unreal, 3D environments and accessories. What will the New Zealand-based studio be working on? It’s still early to guess, but fans of mass survival games should be on the lookout and keep an eye on these two creatives.
