We nearly flew off our chairs when we saw what Asobo Studio published for the system requirements to run Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC. Get ready to get solid Internet.
It’s quite a bold idea to include all thirty-seven thousand (that’s 37000) airports (or at least landing strips) in the game. And the developers published no less than three different system requirements: a minimum, a recommended, and the ideal. Let’s see what we need:
Microsoft Flight Simulator’s minimum system requirements:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Core i5-4460, or better
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 570 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 770, or better
- VRAM: 2 GB
- RAM: 8 GB
- Free space on your SSD or HDD: 150GB
- Internet bandwidth: 5 Mbps
Microsoft Flight Simulator’s recommended system requirements:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or Intel i5-8400, or better
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 590 or Nvidia GTX 970, or better
- VRAM: 4 GB
- RAM: 16 GB
- HDD: 150GB
- Free space on your SSD or HDD: 150GB
- Internet bandwidth: 20 Mbps
Microsoft Flight Simulator’s ideal system requirements:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 2700X or Intel Core i7-9800X, or better
- GPU: AMD Radeon VII or Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, or better
- VRAM: 8 GB
- RAM: 32 GB
- Free space on your SSD or HDD: 150GB
- Internet bandwidth: 50 Mbps
Looks quite hefty, and the Internet connection is required to provide more detail: the better your connection is, the detailed the game can get, as it would partially run in the cloud for you. Still, it’s interesting they didn’t write nor the frame rate, neither the resolution for the specs. Will it get just 1080P and 30 FPS for us?
Microsoft Flight Simulator is planned to arrive this year on PC. It’s possible that Microsoft will also port the game to the Xbox Series X.
