Cyberpunk 2077: Big Scale, Standalone Multiplayer [VIDEO]

CD Projekt RED‘s next game’s scale is hinted at by one of the localization’s scale.

While there will be several supported languages with subtitles (Spanish/Latin American, Hungarian, Turkish, Czech, Arabic, Thai, Chinese – Traditional, and Korean), several languages will get voice acting as well (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese,    Russian, Chinese – Simplified, and Japanese). Daniel Ahmad, the senior analyst at Niko Partners, shared a few details about the Mandarin (simplified) Chinese localization: It’s going to have „more than 150 voice actors, 100,000 lines, 4 recording studios + 10,000 person [work]hours. The voice acting work is 15-20% more than [in The] Witcher 3 (including DLC).” That includes both expansions for The Witcher 3! You can see a video if the voice acting work below:

The Witcher 3 is not going to launch officially in China (which means the censors of the Chinese Communist Party will not check the game, meaning there’s not much of a chance of a console version in the country…), but it will be available via Steam. Ahmad added, „CD Projekt RED has 228k Youtube subs and 281k Twitch followers. Yet, it has 568k followers on Chinese video site Bilibili which can be considered a Chinese version of Youtube/Twitch. CDPR has a good reputation in China and is a well-respected dev.”

During the latest conference call, CD Projekt RED confirmed that all the expansions and DLC of Cyberpunk 2077 will be released before its multiplayer part will be available. Also, the multiplayer portion of the game will be standalone (with microtransactions), and since it has no release window, it’s probably going to arrive in 2022. There’s also news that the PlayStation 5/Xbox Series X version of the game will NOT cost 70 dollars/euro.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on November 19 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia, and the two next-gen consoles will support it from day one. The next-gen upgrade is likely arriving in early 2021.
