CD Projekt RED‘s game originally had no less than four class-action lawsuits filed against it, but the court decided to combine the four cases into one, as the game was launched in a… fairly incomplete state.
A week ago, news surfaced that the court will combine the four cases filed between December 2020 and January 2021 into one big case, as they were filed with the same reasoning. Thus, CD Projekt (CDP onwards) was talking about the situation in a shareholder meeting that VGC covered.
„The court has selected a representative of the opposing party, a law firm representing them and their lead plaintiff – that is the main person representing that claiming party. As of today, we are not aware of a value of a potential claim. The actual suit shall be filed with the court until the end of June,” chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz said. Well, CDP previously said that it will vigorously defend itself in court. Now, they will get a chance.
And still, Cyberpunk 2077 is not available on the PlayStation Store after Sony removed it in December. Adam Kiciński, CDPR’s CEO said the following about this situation: „Unfortunately, I have no new information in this regard. We are still in discussions and with every patch, the game gets better and there is visible progress, but as we said the decision is an exclusive decision of Sony, so we are waiting for the information about the fact that they decided to bring back this game. Until then I am not able to tell you anything more.”
Cyberpunk 2077 will get a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S version in the second half of the year (the same applies for The Witcher 3, too, and it might include fan-made mods; we discussed all of this before).
