Last weekend, a tragedy devastated the Astroworld festival, where the famous rapper Travis Scott was performing a concert. Following this accident, Epic Games suspended the same artist’s emote sale in Fortnite.

The emote in question is known as Out West, a gesture that refers to a Travis Scott song. Along with all the items available in the daily session within the title’s shop, no player can now access these cosmetics.

Epic Games responded to the situation by mentioning that they are aware of this suspension. “This is intentional, and the ‘daily’ section will return with the next update to the item shop”. While they didn’t go into specific reasons, the reason is more straightforward than it seems.

If you’re not familiar with it, The Astroworld Festival is an outdoor music event held at NRG Park in Houston, Texas. Last weekend, during the first day of the event, the crowd started pushing the spectators enjoying Travis Scott’s music to the front. The crush of people was such that dozens were seriously injured, with at least eight dead at the time of writing.

What was the reason behind this accident? There is no official statement yet, but it was confirmed that around 50,000 people were present at the time of the tragedy, with all the tickets sold out. Because of this, the rest of the Astroworld festival was cancelled.
