Vin Diesel has unveiled a new image of his character in the film
After several weeks of rumours, it has been confirmed that there will be a new instalment of the Riddick saga. Vin Diesel himself, the protagonist of the movie, has given it for fact on his Instagram account with a spectacular photo of his character. “Great meeting today, very excited for this next chapter. #Furyan,” wrote the actor, and his fans have gone absolutely crazy!
Now we all associate Vin Diesel with the Fast & Furious saga and its charismatic Dominic Toretto, but the great springboard of his career was his role in The Chronicles of Riddick in 2004, the first of the saga and where the actor became known to the general public. He played Richard B. Riddick, a fugitive who survives on desert planets plagued by monsters.
This fourth instalment will be titled Riddick 4: Furya, and Diesel, in addition to starring, will also be the executive producer. “David Twohy has written a great script,” he said. It will be shot in Australia: “It was just a matter of time, we had to find the time to shoot it, and it has arrived“. All indications are that the new instalment of the saga will be a prequel focusing on the character and the planet Furya, where Diesel’s character comes from.
Until then, Vin Diesel will first return to the role of Dominic Toretto and wrap up the Fast and Furious franchise with two final sequels, the first of which is due for release on April 7, 2023.
