The latest Battlefield ended last week with fewer users than the farm simulator

Battlefield 2042 is not getting any good news. In addition to the multitude of problems at launch, even Peppa Pig games have a better rating than the Electronic Arts title, which in its first few days also made it onto the list of the worst-rated games on Steam.

It’s precisely Steam that we’ve come to talk about, as recent sales and player data indicate that Farming Simulator 22 is garnering more players than DICE’s shooter. At least, that’s what this past week’s data collected by SteamDB indicates, which points to an even higher peak in concurrent players.

The farm management game was the best-selling title over the past seven days, with the shooter slipping to second place. Farming Simulator 22 had gathered 93,782 active users on its launch day, 22 November, while Battlefield 2042 had had to settle for half that in the same measurement on the 19th when it was released globally.
What’s more, both games have a very similar peak; Battlefield 2042 has 105,397 players, while Farming Simulator has 105,636. It should be noted that these figures are only for the Steam platform, so they do not include players on consoles and Origin, EA’s PC gaming platform. However, it’s no surprise that a game from a big-name studio is outperformed on the most popular platform in PC gaming.

EA’s title is getting a lot of criticism for the state in which it’s been released and is receiving numerous updates in its early days, but its strengths and weaknesses go beyond technical problems and performance.
