Syberia: The World Before: No PC Launch In 2021

We were prepared to hear the delay: Microids no longer plans to drop the PC port of the next Syberia game by the end of the year, so (along with the console ports) it slid over to 2022.

Microids announced the delay on Twitter with the following statement: “Dear Syberia fans, we wish to share some important news regarding the Syberia: The World Before’s release date. Initially scheduled for December 10, 2021, on PC, we’ve decided to push back the launch to Q1 2022. We soon will release more information about the exact release date.

We are committed to releasing the best possible game offering an immersive adventure that will transport you and remain faithful to the universe of Benoit Sokal. It seems necessary to give ourselves a little more time to finalize the development in the best conditions. We are already very confident and eager to share with you the new adventures of Kate Walker. We are convinced that players will be enthusiastic about the next episode of the series. Without a doubt, Syberia: The World Before will be one of the significant episodes of the Syberia series. We will make sure to provide you with regular updates,” Microids wrote.

The unfinished work of Benoit Sokal, the creator of the series (who sadly passed away earlier this year), will not see his next game in the series in a complete form. Syberia: The World Before will launch between January and March 2022 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store). Microids also plans to release it on consoles, which haven’t been specified since August (when the French company confirmed the previous December 10 date for PC). They should decide who gets Kate Walker’s return shortly, as 2022 isn’t far away either. Let’s be patient then.
