MOVIE NEWS – Henry Cavill proves his passion for games once again by pushing for a film adaptation of Rockstar’s western.
With the release of the second season of The Witcher – see our review here – Henry Cavill has appeared in several interviews where he has once again shown his passion for video games and that he would love to star in an adaptation of one or other of the programmes. A few days ago, in an interview with Amazon, he showed his love for the Mass Effect series, and now he has expressed his desire for a possible Red Dead Redemption 2 movie.
“I’ve started playing RDR 2, and I’m really enjoying it” – Henry Cavill
“Hmmm… Wow, that’s a really good [question]. It’s a bit tricky because you’re tying a franchise to a company and that complicates things, so I don’t want to corner myself on that, but there are a lot of games out there… I’ve started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 – I know it’s a bit late – but I’ve started, and I’m really enjoying it. So I think something like that would be great to bring to film,” the British actor replied when asked by GamesReactor which license he would like to see Netflix bring to screen with him in the lead role.
His current plans include The Witcher, with a third season more than possible, as well as filming several movies. He recently expressed his desire to return as Superman, but nothing is official yet.
As for RDR 2, the adventure has sold 38 million copies, another success for Rockstar. Released in 2018, the game offers players a late 19th century Wild West adventure and is still an excellent buy for any gamer interested in the style and era.
