Microsoft has bought the makers of Warcraft and Diablo, Activision Blizzard, for between $50 and $70 billion.

The news yesterday that Microsoft had bought Activision Blizzard for an industry record amount came out of the blue, and information has been flying around since then. The green company has been filling the news with a remarkable increase in Xbox Game Pass subscribers and details surrounding the fate of Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.

However, many questions remain, and one, in particular, has to do with the games that will be coming to Microsoft’s portfolio: will they be Xbox-exclusive? The company has not yet commented on this, as the deal is not yet final, but Bloomberg responded, “Microsoft plans to keep some Activision games on PlayStation consoles, but will keep some content exclusive to Xbox.”

It’s worth noting that Xbox has not made an official statement on the matter; this information comes from a person with insight into the company’s business plans. However, it is logical that Microsoft would choose to keep the sagas for all platforms, as examples such as Call of Duty and Overwatch have already built a large and stable community on all consoles. In addition, the company highlighted the arrival of Activision Blizzard games in the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem, although it did not specify which games would be part of the service.

In doing so, Microsoft has taken a historic step for the industry. The deal is also the most expensive acquisition in the video game industry history.
