TECH NEWS – GeForce NOW is further refining its cloud-based gaming and subscription service, which it aims to establish as one of the alternative services of the future.

Alongside NVIDIA‘s GeForce NOW service, Microsoft continues to strengthen its cloud gaming, and while they differ in form and content, GeForce NOW added more than 12 million users last October.

The possibility to scale the image using artificial intelligence.

NVIDIA will offer three different playback modes:

AI-assisted scaling: this can be enabled on PCs with certain graphics cards – you can see which GPUs are supported here – and on SHIELD TV devices. In terms of how this scaling works, NVIDIA uses a trained neural network model and an algorithm that enhances image sharpness for a more natural-looking result.
Enhanced scaling: provides higher quality scaling than the normal scaling mode.
Standard scaling: This option is enabled by default and has minimal impact on system performance.

The update also brings other new features to users of the service, including new settings for adjusting the broadcast quality, which can be configured live via the GeForce NOW overlay. In addition, the streaming experience from the website has been improved and now selects the ideal streaming resolution for devices unable to decode high bitrate streaming content.

This improvement will be rolled out as update 2.0.37, which is expected to arrive with the new additions to the GeForce NOW catalogue. As you know, this service is not like PC Game Pass, it just gives you the option to run certain games in the cloud regardless of the launcher.
