Here’s their announcement: “Discover the beautiful Systres Archipelago in the Legacy of the Bretons year-long adventure, a brand-new storyline told throughout all The Elder Scrolls Online’s 2022 content releases, including the upcoming The Elder Scrolls Online: Ascending Tide downloadable content and The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle Chapter.

But what about High Isle? “The Elder Scrolls Online’s most significant release of the year, High Isle, progresses the ongoing Legacy of the Bretons storyline and provides 30 hours of unique story content. In this new Chapter, you have the opportunity to dive deep into Breton’s old home and experience a noble chivalric society on the brink of war. High Isle provides a host of brand-new adventures and features for you to experience, including a new zone that showcases the islands of High Isle and Amenos; a complex main storyline of politics, honour, and intrigue that ties into the Legacy of the Bretons year-long saga; a new system called Tales of Tribute, an in-game collectable card game; a new 12-player Trial named Dreadsail Reef; two new Companions, Ember and Isobel, who can join your adventures; new World Events called Fissures; new Delves, Public Dungeons, World Bosses, and a host of unique stand-alone quests, and updates and quality of life improvements.

Here are further details about High Isle: “In the upcoming High Isle Chapter, you have the opportunity to discover a part of Nirn never-before-seen in the Elder Scrolls series: the old island home of the Breton elite. Within the Systres Archipelago, explore a bountiful tropical atoll ringed by stunning white cliffs and host majestic castles and dense jungles. With two unique areas within the Chapter, High Isle and Amenos, you can experience the chivalric culture of the Breton people firsthand as you traverse more profound into the island and its mysteries, see its spectacular locations and take on challenging quests.
In The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle’s main storyline, you are charged with uncovering the plots of a sinister order of knights that threaten the peace and security of High Isle. The Ascendant Lord stands at the head of this rogue group, a mysterious force seeking to claim an ancient legacy. While the main storyline is a stand-alone tale in its own right, the events of the High Isle Chapter continue the greater Legacy of the Bretons storyline that begins with the Ascending Tide downloadable content in March and will progress throughout the entirety of 2022.
The High Isle Chapter also introduces a gameplay system, Tales of Tribute. A tavern card game that allows you to compete against your fellow players and NPCs, this fast-paced, deck-building game provides a new way for Tamriel’s adventurers to relax and play. As you unlock decks and cards, you can challenge NPCs in taverns all over Tamriel and compete with your fellow players to rise up the leaderboards. Visit local taverns and win to unlock unique rewards, including achievements, collectables, and more!
Finally, this Chapter also brings a host of challenges, collectables, and rewards not found anywhere else in Nirn. These include two Companions, Ember and Isobel (complete with their questlines, personalities, and abilities), a host of delves and public dungeons to explore, item sets and rewards unique to the High Isle zone, more Antiquities, a new type of world event, a formidable Trial, and much more—a bounty awaits you within the ancient home of the Bretons!”, Bethesda wrote.
However, Ascending Tide will launch before it. As it ties into High Isle, it’s essential to know what it covers: “The Legacy of the Bretons year-long adventure officially kicks off with this year’s first dungeon downloadable content, Ascending Tide, featuring two challenging new player-versus-environment dungeons: The Coral Aerie and Shipwright’s Regret. In these exciting new four-player player-versus-environment activities, you’re tasked with investigating the remnants of the once-proud All Flags Navy and assaulting a costal hideout of the mysterious Ascendant Order.
In these adventures, you encounter fan-favourite characters, including the dashing Jakarn and Captain Za’ji, and can acquire supplementary Achievements, item sets, and collectables. What you find within these mysterious new dungeons sets up the upcoming High Isle Chapter events and impacts the larger Legacy of the Breton storyline—gather your allies! You can get access to the Ascending Tide downloadable content game pack via The Elder Scrolls Online Plus membership or purchase with crowns from the in-game Crown Store when it launches on PC / Mac and Stadia on March 14 and Xbox and PlayStation consoles on March 29.”
The Elder Scrolls Online will get Spanish text localization (but not dubbing!) when High Isle drops. A few items are temporarily available once again: “From now until February 3 at 10 a.m. ET, you can acquire Za’ji’s Sailing Apparel costume for crowns from the in-game Crown Store. In addition to this dashing new look, for a limited time, we’re also bringing back some much-requested items, including the Old Salt’s Chin-Trinket, Swashbuckler personality, and the Colossal Aldmeri Grotto house—everything you need to begin your adventures across the sea! Also available right now is a selection of new High Isle-themed items on the Bethesda Gear Store, including a unique lithograph, statue, and T-shirt, all available now for pre-purchase for a limited time only.”
The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle will launch on June 6 on PC, Mac, and Stadia, while the consoles have to wait until June 21. Its storyline will begin in Ascending Tide, launching on March 14/29. The latter date is for the consoles.
