PlayStation Yesterday Reported Serious Problems With Online Services On PS4 & PS5

This comes just hours after the announcement of the PlayStation system update, which includes some important new features.

Yesterday, PlayStation teased PS5 users with some new features. A firmware update has enabled open and closed group access (which was also implemented on the PS4), and they promise to include VRR technology in the future. However, some steps have not gone smoothly: significant problems have been reported with some of the company’s services.

According to PlayStation’s website, there were problems with PS Now, PS Store and social experiences

As the well-known tweeter, Nibel was the first to report, the company’s website says there have been problems with several of the online services. These included PS Now, PS Store and Community Experience glitches on PS4 and PS5, as well as on the brand’s other online platforms.

Specifically, the company explained that the PS Store does not currently support purchasing, downloading, browsing, searching and redemption, and as a result, the platform has experienced difficulties. On the other hand, PSN has experienced issues with game streaming, while the social experience has been warned that players may encounter obstacles when launching games, apps or using the online features of games.

Other services such as account management, PS Video and PS Direct have been working smoothly, so watch for the brand to release further information on which applications are affected. However, it now appears that the company has successfully managed to overcome the issues: as of this morning, all services are back up and running.
