MOVIE NEWS – Brie Larson is well known for her great roles in such films as Captain Marvel and The Room, for which she won an Oscar. Now she’s joined the cast of Fast and Furious, which she revealed to her fans in an excited Instagram post.
Brie Larson shared the good news with her fans amidst much excitement: she’s joining the cast of the final two episodes of the Fast and Furious franchise! “Excited doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel about joining the Fast family. Thank you for welcoming me in with so much kindness and excitement, @vindiesel. can’t wait to share more (when I can)”. Larson also reacted to the announcement of Vin Diesel in her Instagram post, who actually beat her to the punch when he revealed that the Oscar-winning actress would be joining the Fast 10 team and also welcomed Larson to the “family” with some very kind words.
“Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘That’s Captain Marvel.’ Clearly there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in ‘Fast 10.’ You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”
Besides Brie Larson, many other big names will be taking part in the concluding films of the 20+ year franchise. Jason Momoa was also recently announced as joining the series as a villainous character who will be both fun and flamboyant. He will be joined by Charlize Theron, Helen Mirren, Michelle Rodriguez, Jason Statham, John Cena, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Lucas Black and Ludacris in the last two films.
Fast and Furious was only a moderate success at the beginning, but over the years it has become a cult film series with huge box office success. It is likely that the final two installments of the franchise will be even bigger than the previous installments, with billions of dollars in revenue, as Vin Diesel has already announced that they will conclude the series that has been running since 2001, so fans will surely hit the cinemas.
Fast and Furious 10 will be directed by Justin Lin and is expected to premiere on 19 May 2023. Even after that, we won’t have to say goodbye to the franchise for good, as the makers have several spin-offs planned.
