Starfield: Bethesda’s Newest Star Was Revealed In An Amazing Gameplay Video! [VIDEO]

Todd Howard has treated the prospective audience of Starfield to some jaw-dropping footage and a whole lot of new information.

It was predictable that Xbox and Bethesda would reveal something about Starfield at the launch. After all, despite the recent delays, the community was still waiting for the detailed presentation to learn more about Bethesda’s newest creation. Well, it’s happened; Phil Spencer and Todd Howard have not disappointed and have given us another gameplay analysis of the highly anticipated space game.

The Starfield gameplay showcased one of the game’s biggest draws: the spacecraft flying

The video starts with a scene showing the protagonist’s first steps into an unknown world. Alongside shots of the beautiful environment, Bethesda complements the trailer with FPS-style battles and demonstrations of activities such as material gathering and the lock picking system, which takes what we saw in Skyrim but with a more futuristic aesthetic.

But beyond that, the developers also wanted to raise player expectations with story-related details.

To that end, a video presented at the Xbox event shows the familiar system of interacting with other characters, landscapes other than Planet Earth, and a taste of character and spaceship customisation.

Part of the gameplay is focused on the activities players have been waiting for: piloting ships, exploring up to 1,000 planets and engaging in intergalactic battles. This is not just the current trailer but one of the game’s main attractions, which will be released in the first half of 2023: you can feel like the whole galaxy is your own personal playground!

Our motto: customise!

As mentioned above, it turns out that Starfield players can build and customise their own ships. Not only can they customise their ships, but they can also populate them with mates and crew. Like games such as No Man’s Sky and Star Citizen, Starfield will allow players to take off from the planet’s surface and fly into space. While exploring space, players will encounter various hazards to contend with, such as asteroids and enemy ships.

There will be space combat in Starfield, with players earning XP for taking out the threats in their path and the enemies that attack them.

Like other Bethesda RPGs, Starfield will allow players to level up their character by gaining XP and then purchasing abilities. Bethesda hasn’t revealed many specifics about what fans can expect in terms of perks in Starfield, but it will work similarly to games like Skyrim and Fallout 4.

As for player characters, Starfield will have a character customisation system, just like Bethesda’s other big RPGs. Bethesda says this is their most profound character customisation tool yet, so fans who like to create unique characters will have fun with it.

Lastly, Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield will allow players to build outposts, similar to the base building feature found in Fallout 4. This will allow players to set up camp on the many different planets they can explore, of which there will reportedly be literally thousands in the game. Starfield is clearly one of Bethesda’s most ambitious projects to date, so it will be interesting to see if it lives up to expectations.
