Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, recently hinted at The Last of Us 3 in an interview. In it, he was promoting the HBO series based on Sony’s blockbuster franchise. The Last of Us franchise has been an enormous success for Sony and the PlayStation brand. Both games released so far have received almost universal acclaim and sold millions of copies. This success is one of the main reasons why HBO decided to produce a TV series, the first season of which would adapt the original game.

HBO has invested heavily in The Last of Us TV series, and with Neil Druckmann himself involved in its development, it has a good chance of being one of the best and most faithful game adaptations.

It’s been said that The Last of Us multiplayer game will have its own story, so that may be what he meant. However, this seems unlikely.

Insider reports and leaks have suggested that Naughty Dog is working on an upcoming project for The Last of Us 3. Druckmann has dismissed these rumours, but given the franchise’s success, it seems highly unlikely that Naughty Dog would abandon it.

Right now, of course, the focus is on The Last of Us multiplayer game, and there are rumours that the studio has some other projects in the works, but Last of Us 3 would potentially be the next release after those games hit the market.
