The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann commented on recent leaks about Naughty Dog.

 

 

Naughty Dog co-chairman and creative director of The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann, has responded to some of the leaks concerning the studio. Naughty Dog has been a leading game industry developer since its inception in the 1980s. With little exaggeration, they have released one hit game after another. They started with classic platform games like Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter. In recent years, however, the studio has taken a more cinematic approach with titles like Uncharted and The Last of Us.

Neil Druckmann has taken a significant role in leading Naughty Dog with the studio’s latest projects. He has also helped to expand Naughty Dog’s IP into other mediums, as he is co-creator of the HBO series The Last of Us and serves as a writer and executive producer on the series.

The only confirmed Naughty Dog project in development is the multiplayer game The Last of Us. However, leaks and rumours suggest that Naughty Dog is working on a new fantasy IP or some kind of steampunk sci-fi game. There are also rumours that Naughty Dog is working on The Last of Us 3. In a recent tweet, Druckmann addressed the leaks. He promised, “cool stuff” coming in 2023. These will be shared with fans by Naughty Dog. However, he added that they should be “wary” of insider information because “much of it is false”.

It is unclear now what Druckmann is referring to specifically. It is possible that he is debunking all the recent Naughty Dog leaks and rumours with this tweet. Or he could be referring specifically to the most recent ones.

Ultimately, fans won’t know for sure if there’s any truth behind Naughty Dog’s latest leaks until the studio officially announces its next project after The Last of Us multiplayer game, and when that is is anyone’s guess.

Historically, many Naughty Dog leaks and rumours have proven to be true. The Last of Us remake leaked online long before the official announcement. Many may remember the significant Last of Us 2 leak, which revealed some shocking plot twists. However, that doesn’t mean that all of Naughty Dog’s leaks and rumours over the years have been accurate, so fans may want to wait and see when it comes to what’s next from the acclaimed developer.
