Did Keanu Reeves Seriously Injure Someone At A John Wick Filming?!

MOVIE NEWS – Not all the violence fans see in the John Wick films is fake. Keanu Reeves has revealed that he caused an injury on set.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is finally in cinemas. The latest in the franchise has arguably surpassed all three previous films in the explosiveness of its action sequences. According to Keanu Reeves, creating such stunning scenes can sometimes have unintended consequences.

The John Wick films have maintained their reputation as high-octane action movies that have raised audience expectations of action films with intricately choreographed fight sequences.

This is partly because Chad Stahelski, who directed all four John Wick films, is an experienced stuntman. Stahelski has been in the business for about 30 years. He’s worked on films such as Deadpool 2, The Expendables, Constantine and The Crow – the infamous production that led to the death of Brandon Lee – as well as all three original Matrix films. Stahelski’s experience as a stuntman and stunt coordinator doesn’t just mean he knows how to create effective action sequences. It also means he knows the dangers his actors and crew face. And how best to reduce that risk.

True, the John Wick films have not proved fatal; even the most vigilant crew can only do so much to avert disaster. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Reeves revealed that he was the cause of one of the few filming accidents. “So in terms of accidents: I made a mistake once – I cut a gentleman’s head open. So that really f*****g sucked (excuse my language). But other than that – oh, one guy got hit by a car. He was in the car, so he had to go to the hospital, but he was okay.”

Although accidents are inevitable, Stahelski doesn’t take them lightly: the John Wick 4 director spoke earlier this year about his reluctance to use real guns on set.

He made this statement in response to Alec Baldwin’s incident in Santa Fe County, New Mexico. Baldwin fired a prop revolver on the set of Rust in 2021. As a result, cameraman Halyna Hutchins was fatally wounded. Baldwin was charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter on January 31, 2023.

Fortunately, the filming of John Wick: Chapter 4 was completed without severe injuries. All of the deaths and injuries seen in the trailers remain fictional – although they will undoubtedly appear real when audiences witness them in cinemas.
