Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Receives Crucial Update on PC

Respawn finally addresses the numerous issues plaguing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as the studio releases a significant update for PC players.

Respawn has issued its first major patch for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Since its release, many fans had to deal with a variety of performance issues, prompting an official Respawn statement regarding Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launch day performance complaints. Now, it seems the developer is following through on its promises to fix these performance issues.

In the months leading up to the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, gamers were filled with anticipation, especially after the success of Fallen Order a few years prior. While reviews and general first impressions showed a promising sequel from Respawn, its reception was largely overshadowed by the many performance problems at launch. These issues ranged from broken HDR in Jedi: Survivor for the PS5 to game-breaking bugs that forced players to restart the game entirely. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long for the developer to address these problems across all platforms.

In its latest update, Respawn has released a major patch targeting the performance issues on PC, stating that the patch will improve performance for “non-raytraced rendering.” It’s unclear if this patch specifically addresses framerate issues or HDR rendering shortcomings, as the developer hasn’t provided a detailed update. It’s likely Respawn will follow this up with more patches for the PC version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in the coming days. Regardless, the patch indicates a much-needed effort from Respawn amid the growing frustrations of Star Wars gamers.

Time will tell how far these patches will go in terms of helping the title regain confidence from the gaming community.

However, despite the performance issues, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has already become more popular than its predecessor on PC. SteamDB records the peak concurrent user count for Jedi: Survivor at 67,855, a significant increase from Jedi: Fallen Order’s 46,550.
