Assassin’s Creed: Bloodstone takes fans into the Vietnam War through the eyes of a Japanese assassin…

Thanks to several titles in development, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is as relevant today as it was when it began in 2007. As the wait for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage draws closer, fans can pass the time by immersing themselves in the two-part comic book series Assassin’s Creed: Bloodstone.

Assassin’s Creed: Bloodstone, written by Guillaume Dorison, tells the story of Tomo, one of the youngest members of a Japanese assassin cell.

After uncovering a conspiracy, Tomo, usually a man of science rather than action, must continue his investigation. Even if it means following in the footsteps of assassins who worked during the Vietnam War. The two-part graphic novel series, illustrated by Ennio Bufi, was initially written and published in French. The first volume was released in March 2019. The second volume was published in October of the same year. However, they were later published in English in 2020 and 2021.

This is by no means the first comic book in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. With several comics published over the years, it’s easy to get lost among them. Fortunately, a graphic has been produced to show you the best reading order if you want to tackle it yourself. As some novels have interconnected story threads, others are standalone volumes, while others have been re-released in recent years, it’s confusing, to say the least. Moreover, some comics follow the stories of random assassins such as Tomo, while others follow the adventures of Ezio, Altair, Connor and Edward.

Ubisoft currently has its hands full with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, including plans for Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, Infinity, Codename Hexe, Codename Jade, Codename Red and Invictus. With Mirage launching on 5 October and Nexus VR on 16 November, it promises to be an exciting year for the franchise, with several more to follow from 2024 onwards.
