MOVIE NEWS – Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series reimagines Sauron’s character in its second season. Multiple actors bring the dark lord to life, adding a complex and thrilling approach to the narrative. This change further complicates the already rich universe of Middle-earth.
Last year, Amazon transported us to Middle-earth with The Lord of the Rings, though a significant portion of fans of Tolkien’s world were not entirely satisfied with what they saw. However, this did not hinder the studio’s long-term plans, as they had been thinking in terms of multiple seasons from the beginning. Therefore, work on the sequel began as early as October 2022.
About a year ago, news came that Gavi Singh Chera had joined the cast, but until then, it was unknown whom he would portray. Now, a recent tidbit suggests that the actor will be none other than the formidable Sauron… Naturally, those familiar with the series may immediately wonder, “how can that be?” since the original owner of the One Ring was portrayed by another actor (Charlie Vickers) in the first season.
🚨EXCLUSIVE: Gavi Singh Chera will play ‘SAURON’ in THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER Season 2.
He will play the original form version of the character which is meant to be “angelic” and “ethereal” per sources.#TheRingsOfPower #TROPspoilers pic.twitter.com/xudJ3vbY7Y

Moreover, Vickers will also appear in the second season, making the whole situation seem quite convoluted at first glance. However, it’s simply due to Sauron’s ability to change forms, allowing us to see him in several different bodies. Sources indicate that Gavi Singh Chera will portray the character’s “original form,” which has a more “angelic” and “otherworldly” appearance.
It has also been revealed that the majority of the Rings of Power will be forged in Celebrimbor’s tower in the second season, and Sauron will distribute them to dwarves, humans, and elves. While it’s still unknown in which form he will do this, if we were to speculate, Gavi Singh Chera will likely be seen only in flashbacks, so our bets are on the version portrayed by Vickers.
