MOVIE NEWS – SkyShowtime today unveiled the official trailer and footage for the second season of the hit series HALO. The first two episodes of the new series will air on Friday 9 February – exclusively on SkyShowtime.

In the second season, elite Spartan Master Chief John-117 (Pablo Schreiber) will lead his team against the alien menace known as the Covenant. After a harrowing event on a desolate planet, John soon becomes convinced that his war is about to take a new turn, so he puts all his eggs in one basket to prove what no one believes – that the Alliance is bent on attacking humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink of collapse, John sets out to find the key to saving humanity or extinction: the Halo.

From series creator and executive producer David Wiener (Brave New World), the series is set in the universe made famous by the first HALO game for Xbox®, which debuted in 2001. Set in the 26th century, the gigantic conflict between humanity and the aliens known as the Covenant, HALO is a series that interweaves a deep portrayal of human fate and history with spectacular action, adventure and a terrifyingly realistic vision of the future.

HALO stars Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) as Master Chief Spartan-117 and Natascha McElhone (Californication) as Dr. Halsey, who will also serve as executive producer this season. Other recurring cast members include Jen Taylor (HALO TV series, RWBY), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo), Shabana Azmi (Fire), Natasha Culzac (The Witcher), Olive Gray (Half Moon Investigations), Yerin Ha (Reef Break), Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Kate Kennedy (Catastrophe), Charlie Murphy (Peaky Blinders) and Danny Sapani (Penny Dreadful).

New cast members for Season 2 include Joseph Morgan (Vampire Diaries, The Originals), Cristina Rodlo (No One Gets Out of Here Alive, The Homeless World Cup) and Christina Bennington (Midsomer Murders). Fiona O’Shaughnessy (The Forgiven) and Tylan Bailey return as regulars for Season 2.
