Death Stranding: The First Game’s Apple Port Is Almost Here; Subtitle Of The Sequel Revealed?

Two short pieces of news in one, although the latter is more of a rumor (but from a very reliable source).

505 Games and Kojima Productions have announced that Death Stranding Director’s Cut for iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max, iPads with M-series chips and Macs will be released on the App Store on January 30th. Pre-orders are currently available at a 50% discount, so you can purchase the port for $20 instead of $40.

Here’s the game’s description on the App Store: “From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes a genre-defining experience now expanded in this definitive Director’s Cut. In the future, a mysterious event known as the Death Stranding has opened a doorway between the living and the dead, allowing grotesque creatures from the afterlife to roam the fallen world, marked by a desolate society. As Sam Bridges, your mission is to bring hope to humanity by uniting the last survivors of a decimated America. Can you reunite a shattered world, one person at a time?

Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Mac takes full advantage of Metal 3 features like MetalFX Upscaling for unbeatable graphical fidelity and amazing performance. It also includes a high frame rate, photo mode, and cross-over content from Valve Corporation’s Half-Life series and CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077. Stay connected to players around the world with the Social Strand System.

Meanwhile, a sequel is in the works, announced for 2022. On French website Dealabs, billbil-kun (who used to leak PlayStation Plus Essential games for a long time) wrote that Death Stranding 2 will be subtitled On The Beach and that we can expect some kind of announcement in two weeks. This suggests that Sony might be preparing a State of Play broadcast in February. And the game might not be released until 2025 for PlayStation 5…
