MOVIE NEWS – An early Star Wars screenplay draft has sold for more than $13,000 at auction.

Harrison Ford didn’t just leave his toothbrush behind when he left a London flat. A draft of the script for the original Star Wars movie trilogy was found in the apartment. The latter has now sold for over $13,000 at auction.

Star Wars: IV episode – The fourth draft of the script for the 1977 film A New Hope was unbound and incomplete. But it did include memorable scenes like Chewbacca’s introduction in a pub.

The “Adventures of Luke Starkiller” script, dated March 15, 1976, sold to an Austrian collector for about $13,600 in a live auction on Saturday. The seller owned the house that Ford rented while working on the film.

Hans Solo, Ford’s character, first appears on page 56.

“It has his DNA on it. It might even have [Ford’s] sweat on it,” Sarah Torode, co-owner of Excalibur Auctions, said at the auction. (This can be especially useful if one wants to clone the legendary actor like Sheldon Cooper wanted with Leonard Nimoy.)

According to the script advertisement on the Excalibur Auctions website, Ford rented the top two floors of the seller’s house in the London suburb of Notting Hill in the summer of 1976.

The owners lived on the lower floors. They claimed they had never heard from Ford or co-stars Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), who dropped in from time to time.
