Microsoft has announced the games it will be adding to its subscription service over the next two weeks.

Available now are Return to Grace (console = Xbox Series, Xbox One; PC, cloud) and Tales of Arise (console, PC, cloud). The latter has also been added to PlayStation Plus Extra (did Bandai Namco pay Sony and Microsoft for this? Sony in particular has added more Tales games to its lineup…). On February 22, Bluey: The Videogame (console, PC, cloud) on February 22nd, Maneater (console, PC, cloud; previously part of the service) and Madden NFL 24 (cloud; only for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, as it’s part of EA Play) on February 27th. Indivisible (console, PC, cloud; returning title) is coming February 28th, followed by Space Engineers (console, PC, cloud) on February 29th, and Warhammer 40K: Boltgun (console, PC, cloud) on March 5th.

As a reminder, this time Microsoft didn’t mention a game that’s already part of the offering, only that Diablo IV will be added to Xbox Game Pass on March 28. In terms of DLC and content updates, Microsoft only mentioned one thing: Microsoft Flight Simulator is getting the Dune add-on, as the company has teamed up with Legendary Pictures and Warner for the new Dune movie.

There are other Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks. Calm (an app focused on sleep, meditation, and relaxation) is available for three months with the premium subscription, the Breakout Supercharge Pack is available in Apex Legends, Puzzle Quest 3 gives you the Green Knight gear, and PUBG: Battlegrounds gives you the Exclusive Survivor Pack with the more expensive subscription. Finally, two games are leaving on February 29th: Madden NFL 22 (console, PC; EA Play) and Soul Hackers 2 (console, PC, cloud).

This seems like a relatively strong upgrade, although there is a suspiciously large number of returning titles on the list. Is there a lack of new games?
