First the art book for the collector’s edition of the game was leaked, and now gameplay has been leaked as a not-quite-finished version of the game has appeared online!
The game is already in production (i.e. retail copies are being made), so development is mostly complete. The release is still almost two months away, but Warhammer 40000: Space Marines 2 has leaked onto the Internet. The full playable build is 75 GB in size, but some assets are missing. The server binaries include Linux, and players can use it to connect to each other. The debug exe is included in the package, as is the developer playground.
Of course, it should be noted here that if you happen to come across it on some sites, it is not recommended to download it, because who knows if it contains malware or viruses that could damage your system. However, as a result of this leak, videos of the game have been uploaded to YouTube. One has already been taken down (due to a copyright claim by Saber Interactive). Another one has been found that is still live, but if Saber deletes it, you can download the footage from Krakenfiles.
The developer version of Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2 is reportedly now fully playable. The frame rate is a bit slow in some places and there are still some bugs, but it’s still questionable if this is a real version of the game or if there’s some big trick behind it. Neither Saber Interactive nor Focus Entertainment (the publisher) have said anything about the leak. By the way, the game was uploaded to the tracker on June 20th, so this could be a very finished version.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2 will be released on September 9th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. Someone is not paying attention to security, because this is not the first time something important about the game has been leaked!
