Humberly Gonzalez provided the voice and motion capture of Kay Vess in the upcoming video game Star Wars Outlaws.
Kay Vess actress Humberly Gonzalez has said she would “absolutely” play the live-action version of her character! In a recent interview with VGC (see video at the end of this article), Gonzalez talked about her desire to play the character she voices and motion capture in a live-action adaptation.
“Absolutely,” she answered when asked if she would like to play the character “live”. “Seeing what an actual human connection to the world could look like, I know I have the skills to bring that to real life.”
Speaking about the potential impact of starring in a Star Wars project, Gonzalez called it a “beautiful responsibility.”
“There’s definitely this sense of beautiful responsibility, but I also feel like if I were going to be in any franchise, I feel honored and ready to be part of this one. Being an immigrant and Latina and queer and learning English at a later age, living in Canada, all of the opportunities that brought me to that point to then getting to show my work and be chosen for something like this, it felt very mutual.”
Star Wars Outlaws releases on August 30 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Players who purchase the Gold or Ultimate editions of the game will receive three days of early access in addition to digital goods, including the game’s Season Pass.
The Season Pass will also include an “exclusive mission with Jabba” called Jabba’s Gambit.
