Team Ninja has been working on Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, which will be released on February 17th, but apparently the sexy Japanese developer has more games in the pipeline, as revealed by Studio Head Yosuke Hayashi on Famitsu.
Hayashi-san encouraged fans to experience the infamous “soft engine” on Dead or Alive 5: Last Round and expressed satisfaction for the success of Hyrule Warriors (developed in collaboration with Omega Force), but he also mentioned that “various” titles are scheduled to be unveiled in 2015.
What could these games be? A solid candidate is a new Toukiden, especially considering that Producer Takashi Morinaka teased a reveal for next year. Of course there are also Team Ninja’s iconic franchises, Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden, which could see their first full current generation release. We might even see a return of Ni-oh, announced in 2004 and then ended up in limbo. It was re-trademarked last August, and it might have been re-purposed for the new generation of consoles.
