Treyarch will develop once again Call of Duty in 2015

Treyarch will be back in charge for next Call of Duty game in 2015, which is actually the twelfth one in the franchise. In the course of an investor call today, Activision confirmed that the studio which was behind the extremely popular Black Ops line of Call of Duty games will be back in action this year. The interesting thing that this will be the first Treyarch developed Call of Duty game to have a three-year development cycle.

Treyarch’s first Call of Duty game was Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Their next game was Call of Duty 3, and would go on to developer World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II. The reception of Treyarch was first reserved, since fans have grown to love their Call of Duty games. Infinity Ward (Modern Warfare and Ghosts) and Sledgehammer Games (Advanced Warfare) also develop Call of Duty games.

CEO Bobby Kotick also revealed that the Call of Duty franchise has earned $11 billion worldwide since the first game was launched in 2003. He also pointed out that this is the sixth year in a row that Call of Duty has been the best-selling franchise in North America.

Call of Duty 2015 is out Holiday 2015. Expect to get an announcement trailer in May, a single player reveal at E3, and then a multiplayer reveal sometime in August before Gamescom.
