Silent Hills and Konami: if not with you, than without you?

We think that Konami’s one of the worst moves this year was putting Silent Hills on thin ice, making Hideo Kojima’s and Guillermo del Toro’s project unlikely to be finished. We’re not alone – change.org has a petition with over 172 thousand signatures for the two gentlemen to get things going, even without Konami as publisher.

Surprisingly, del Toro stood into this project, saying that he would get this game together even without the support of Konami. Norman Reedus, who you may know from The Walking Dead (and also having had a role in Silent Hills), also supports this notion, so there’s really interest for this game. Only Hideo Kojima stays silent about it, however, he still has to finish Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain though.

This project would go as far as renaming it, dropping the Silent Hills name and putting it on Kickstarter to prove: a good horror game is needed for this console generation. We’d all appreciate it, if it happens…

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
