Sony put up a poll during their 20th birthday celebration for the original PlayStation – one question was stated for the fans: which one is the best PlayStation (or PS1, to be exact) game? This means no PS2 or PS3 titles, only the first generation’s games were in the run for the poll. Despite that, there is pretty much the paperform happening seeing the poll results – Sony have published them.
Metal Gear Solid was voted as the best original PlayStation game, which is pretty much not a surprise: Hideo Kojima has put together something amazing in 1998 at Konami, but it eventually got remade for the Nintendo GameCube in 2004 with the subtitle Twin Snakes.
The second place sees SquareSoft’s Final Fantasy VII (this was expected to be up there), and the third and fourth spots were both taken up by Crash Bandicoot. The marsupial landed up there with the first and the third game (Warped), respectively. He pulled it off despite not having received a new game for several years now – maybe this is a warning for Sony to do something about it.
But where’s Resident Evil…?
