EA wants their own Assassin’s Creed and GTA

We don’t really see Electronic Arts being a frontrunner in one particular genre in gaming: open-world action games. They are trying, but they are not able to catch up to Warner, Take Two and Ubisoft at the moment. They are planning to change some things up soon though.

Patrick Söderlund, the executive vice president of EA was talking to IGN about this. He says that their company isn’t pushing out many games in this genre, but their strategy at the moment is to expand into this style of games too, hopefully while making something new for the players. (Let’s just hope it’s not going to be more Season Passes!)

However, remember when Jade Raymond has left Ubisoft to form Motive under EA? She was responsible for Assassin’s Creed games too. Obviously, Söderlund was asked about whether Motive is up to something in the open world genre or not. And unsurprisingly, he gave a dodging answer, saying they will need the right people for this task.

While Visceral is working on a Star Wars game (it better be better than Battlefield Hardline was!), Motive also works on a new IP. We’ll see soon their results…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
