Backward compatibility – Buy a PS4, get a PS3 for free?!

We can’t deny that Microsoft has been focusing on improving the Xbox One in the past few months. Remember, last time that console received the backward compatibility, which allows the XB1 to play X360 games. Meanwhile, the PS4 brought in the PS2-emulation, but it doesn’t allow PS2 Classics and emulation from discs – instead, we will have to rebuy the games that will receive a PS4-emulation support.

What about the PlayStation 3 then? We can play some of the games via the PlayStation Now service, but it just streams the games to our current-gen console instead of emulating it. Sadly, the PS3‘s and PS4‘s architecture is way different, so the X360XB1-styled backward compatibility isn’t possible according to Sony. Instead, they plan this: if you buy a PS4, you can get a PS3 for free to enjoy the games of the previous generation. This might be Sony‘s ambassador program – Nintendo did theirs four years ago when the 3DS launched.

So, if this becomes true, where exactly will Sony plan to pull this off? How do they even plan to give out the remaining PS3 stocks?

It’s a great idea… The only one question is that: Where should I move for this “ambassador”?
