Cerny & Kojima - This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Previously we wrote about how Mark Cerny (the PS4‘s lead architect) and Hideo Kojima (who was still under Konami back then) met towards the end of 2015. Already at the point, we were predicting a possible move towards Sony Computer Entertainment, which eventually happened. However, the pair started a tour, announced by Cerny himself on his new Twitter account.

They are now doing a ten-day worldwide tour about „high-end technology” – Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi, producer at Kojima Productions didn’t say any more details about it. What are they up to behind the scenes? You can figure it out with some logic.

Maybe they are searching for a new engine, as the FOX Engine stays at Konami (they will use it for the PES football games and god knows what else), so Kojima Productions must get something new on board for the upcoming PS4/PC game. What will it be? CryEngine? Unreal Engine 4? Maybe id Tech 6? (We’re not mentioning Frostbite, as that is usually seen in EA games.) We’ll see more at the end of their tour… maybe.
