The Division Beats Destiny in Sales!

The dethroning has happened: Ubisoft‘s new IP, The Division didn’t just beat Bungie‘s Destiny with the beta‘s performance, but also in sales figures as well.

The Division managed to rack up no less than 330 million US Dollars of revenue in its first five days, which is a brand new record in the industry – so far, Destiny held this record with 325 million bucks from 2014. This result was expected to happen, though: Ubisoft‘s previous press statement – which had no concrete numbers – pointed out that The Division became the fastest day-1 selling Ubisoft game ever. 1,2 million players during launch weekend, over 100 million played hours during the first week. Not bad.

It looks like The Division is going to be beating home 2014’s Watch Dogs or 2007’s Assassin’s Creed to be the biggest new IP launch.
