Quantum Break on Xbox One: That Resolution is the WTF of the Day! [VIDEO]

Remedy has provided us with multiple high-quality games: think of the first two Max Payne games, Death Rally or even Alan Wake. Their latest game, Quantum Break is in the finishing stages of its development.

Quantum Break will be out on Xbox One and PC, but it seems the console version won’t be that impressive. DigitalFoundry found out that one of the pre-release builds run only on 720p during gameplay! While Remedy did announce that some parts of the game can run at full HD resolution, DigitalFoundry takes this with a grain of salt. The framerate, however, is a stable 30 even during heavy gunfights. (It should be, isn’t it?)

Despite the low resolution, the visuals are impressive, thanks to Remedy using film grain, motion blur and anti-aliasing to overcome the possible 720p resolution. Remember Alan Wake? That game ran only on 960×544 on Xbox 360 – the 4x MSAA effect fixed up the visuals, though.
