Gamestop Launches Its Publishing Division With Four Game Developer Companies!

We previously heard about that Insomniac GamesSong of the Deep will be published by Gamestop. Since then, the company focused more on game publishing; they are now ready to announce their entire division with no less than four developers behind them.

GameTrust will initially publish games from a lineup of developers that includes the creators of the “Trine,” ”Deadlight” and “Ratchet & Clank” series. GameTrust‘s developers are Helsinki, Finland-based “Trine” creator Frozenbyte; Irvine, Calif.-based “God of War: Chains of Olympus” developer Ready at Dawn Studios; Madrid, Spain-based “Deadlight” studio Tequila Works; and “Ratchet & Clank” creator Insomniac Games, which has studios in Burbank, Calif., and Durham, N.C. Not bad for a start.

GameTrust will operate from Gamestop separately, plus they don’t want to take on AAA games and other publishers (this sounds like PR talk).

Their first game will be Song of the Deep; it will release on July 12.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
