Andreas Behring Breivik:”The PlayStation 2 Is A Torture Device!”

We never thought that we would ever say this about the old black console, but in a country, a decision has been made that involves Sony‘s 15+-year-old console stating that it is a torture device!

Andreas Behring Breivik, who killed 77 people in 2011, sued the Norwegian state saying that they hurt his human rights by only giving him a PlayStation 2 in his cell despite two newer consoles (the PS3, the PS4) existing. He believes he was treated like an animal: the microwave-heated food was low-quality, the coffee was cold, plus he had to use plastic dining tools.

The Norwegian Court ruled that the state must pay Breivik 330 thousand Norwegian Krones as „the ban on inhuman and degrading treatment is an essential merit in a democratic society even if it’s about terrorists or killers.”

There was a ruling against Breivik, too: despite him saying that the state denied him of having a private life, he wasn’t able to prove that his health has suffered while being in prison.

If he got awful games to play, then we would somehow understand his problem, but we don’t know what his game library is!

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
