Sony Is Strengthening The Safety Of The PSN!

PlayStation Network – like all other networks – cannot be called entirely safe. Sony themselves know about this fact, so they are finally starting to implement a technology that their rivals over at Xbox have already done three years ago (!) – Sony is a few steps behind.

The latest PlayStation 3 firmware update mentioned something called „two-factor authentication.” Sony hasn’t talked about this improvement until now. Unfortunately, their comment is just PR talk: „In order to further safeguard our users and their accounts, we are preparing to offer a two-step verification feature.” They forgot to give a release window for the two-factor authentication, but at least they are trying to improve the safety of PlayStation Network.

However, not only Microsoft is ahead of Sony with safety! Blizzard and Valve with their Battle.net and Steam systems respectively also already have this safety feature…
