Massive Layoffs At Intel!

Intel – one of the main CPU makers on the computer market, although their processors recently can do basic graphical stuff as well. At the end of 2015, they had 107.300 staff members. This amount will be cut massively!

The amount of cut will be almost 11%! Twelve thousand people will be laid off, and they will be informed in the next sixty days about it. Some people might stay with Intel until mid-2017, though. Their reason for the layoffs is the lack of success in mobile devices, so they have to make up for the lost money. According to their calculations, Intel can save $750M this year and about $1.4B by mid-2017 with job cuts and related expense reductions.

Meanwhile, Intel begins to invest more money into convertible laptop-tablet devices, gaming, their data center, and Internet of Things businesses.

Seeing Intel as the leader in computer chip making, this layoff is extremely large…
