The Government Lied! And Jason Bourne Going To Uncover It [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – Jason Bourne has been lied to by his own government in the latest sneak peek at the anticipated sequel, which will hit the theaters this July.

“I volunteered because of a lie!” Jason Bourne is furious, and he’s not going to take that any longer! We saw the latest TV spot from the upcoming 5th sequel in the very Bourne series. And it delves into Jason’s past. As Tom Lee Jones explains, Bourne killed none less than 32 people. And the reason of Jason Bourne volunteering for these past missions? Well… because he’s is Jason Bourne.

Matt Damon, who returns to one of his most iconic characters of all time after skipping the fourth episode, disagrees. He explains that he volunteered because he assumed our enemies killed his father. But that wasn’t true. He learned that he volunteered to become who he is because of a vast government cover-up. He volunteered because of a lie. And now, he refuses to turn himself in! As Bourne promises, ‘It all ends tonight!’

International superstar Matt Damon returns to his most iconic role as Jason Bourne in the fifth installment of Universal Pictures’ Bourne franchise.  Praised director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, Captain Phillips) also returns for this much-anticipated chapter, and Frank Marshall again produces alongside Jeffrey Weiner for Captivate Entertainment.  Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman and Ben Smith also produce.  The action-thriller is written by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse.

The supporting cast also includes Julia Stiles, returning from the original trilogy as Nikki, along with Vincent Cassel, Riz Ahmed, Neve Gachev, Ato Essandoh, Scott Shepherd and Marla Aaron Wapner. Paul Greengrass is directing from a script he co-wrote with Christopher Rouse, based on characters created by author Robert Ludlum. This action-thriller will be going up against STX Entertainment’s Bad Moms when it hits theaters on July 29. Take a look at the new footage and hold on for the ride of the summer.
